this is right - the cable is important. but it has nothing to do with the problem, that the app says, that the phone is not compatible. you get this error also if you have no phone connected... it's just a bug in the huawei firmware. with B151 i have now no problems and my phone appears to be...

FYI I just installed VNS-L31C432B151 now and the P9 lite is compatible again with Android Auto App!
