It shouldn't be a CID issue, I have never changed anything along those lines. I ran the same command as OP and got the same CID: (bootloader) cidnum: GOOGL001

I am getting the same exact error when trying to update to KitKat on my completely stock, un-rooted GPE HTC One. "Check cid failed" when I select "apply from phone storage". I've tried multiple times and I get the same error every time. I have also cleared /cache, no change.
