Interesting... I'm thinking the same thing. I'm tired of not getting updates, and I'm tired of feeling like my phone is spying on me. With iPhone 6 and IOS 8, Apple fixed the two things that were real deal breakers for me: tiny screen size and lack of customizability.

My Maxx's CDMA radio died, about a year after I got it. Verizon got me a replacement the next day. Not sure if that's because I bought the insurance, but they didn't charge me a deductible or a replacement charge.

I'm glad you posted about this, because I have been having the same trouble, and it was just sort of starting to hit me that "hey, something is genuinely wrong, this isn't just a flaky one-shot issue".

Yeah, I cleared the Google Play cache (which may or not be the same thing, I'm not sure) and it helped a TON. I went from ending the day with no battery or maybe 6% battery to having a good 20-30% left on a routine basis. I was very skeptical of this advice, but it really, really worked.

I wanted to try without getting too elaborate, so I cleared the Google Play Cache to start with. I don't know what that did, but the battery life seems to be much improved. I'm getting through the day with a reasonable safety margin now, and that's all I really needed. Thanks for your help!
