So long and thanks for all the fish.

You're right. I'd forgotten that. The Maxx was GREAT on the battery until KitKat. My experience with my year-old Maxx on KitKat, towards the end, was that I could barely get a full day's use out of the phone, which astonished me, given how enormous the battery was. And let's not forget (not to...

So long and thanks for all the fish.

I would just like to throw out my observations of iPhone vs Droid Maxx: 1. ios 9 has eliminated many of Kit Kat's advantages. I still miss Widgets, and I find the phone forgetting my choice to use Swiftkey instead of the stock keyboard A LOT. Other than that, I'm pretty comfortable with ios...

So long and thanks for all the fish.

Amusingly, I was kicking around posting a topic with the exact same title, about my leaving Droid to go to the iPhone 6s. I am tired of the rough edges, the complete lack of updates even in the face of glaring security flaws, and the feeling that Google is using my phone to collect data. I'd...

    DROID MAXX: Lollipop Update News

I know that the battery isn't as good. I'm just tired of the Maxx. No updates. No accessories. Persistent wi-fi notification bug. Google spying on me. Regarding the iPhone being flimsy, everyone I know who has one loves it. And there are advantages when everyone you care about is already using...

    DROID MAXX: Lollipop Update News

Interesting... I'm thinking the same thing. I'm tired of not getting updates, and I'm tired of feeling like my phone is spying on me. With iPhone 6 and IOS 8, Apple fixed the two things that were real deal breakers for me: tiny screen size and lack of customizability.

Can't get rid of annoying WiFi dialog

It's no longer a new phone. I've had it for maybe a month. I hate, hate, hate Factory Resets. I have to say that this is one place that Apple really does MUCH better than Android. When I had to rebuild my iPad, EVERYTHING came back. All of my programs, all of my icons, all of my data. It even...

Can't get rid of annoying WiFi dialog

Nope, setting Location Mode to dumbest (Device Only) didn't help. The prompt still came up.

Can't get rid of annoying WiFi dialog

Yeah, I thought I had set everything up in order to turn it off. My location mode is set to High Accuracy. I can set it to GPS only and see what happens.

Can't get rid of annoying WiFi dialog

Hi all, My Maxx recently died. It wouldn't pick up CDMA signals at all. Verizon sent me a new, refurbished one. It works reasonably well, but when I am not connected to Wifi and I open an app, I get this dialog: I know that you get that on brand new phones, and you can turn it off, but...

    Later Motorola

My Maxx's CDMA radio died, about a year after I got it. Verizon got me a replacement the next day. Not sure if that's because I bought the insurance, but they didn't charge me a deductible or a replacement charge.

    Voice over LTE Trial

Okay, I've seen a lot of talk about Voice over LTE. I hadn't messed with it, because I'm firmly in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought. But as it happened, my CDMA radio just died, so it was Voice over LTE or nothing, or the day or so until my replacement arrived. It...

*new* Google Now/Touchless Control/Moto Assist Conflict?

Does anyone know if Motorola is aware of this problem? Have they announced any plans to fix it? I'm concerned about uninstalling the Google App update, because then if they fix it in the Google App, I won't know about it, will I?

*new* Google Now/Touchless Control/Moto Assist Conflict?

I'm glad you posted about this, because I have been having the same trouble, and it was just sort of starting to hit me that "hey, something is genuinely wrong, this isn't just a flaky one-shot issue".

Droid Maxx battery not even lasting a full day

Yeah, I cleared the Google Play cache (which may or not be the same thing, I'm not sure) and it helped a TON. I went from ending the day with no battery or maybe 6% battery to having a good 20-30% left on a routine basis. I was very skeptical of this advice, but it really, really worked.

Suddenly Droid MAXX battery last less than 24 hours

I wanted to try without getting too elaborate, so I cleared the Google Play Cache to start with. I don't know what that did, but the battery life seems to be much improved. I'm getting through the day with a reasonable safety margin now, and that's all I really needed. Thanks for your help!
