    BlackBerry User's Guide to Android

Current BB-er here, seriously considering jumping ship to Android. Here are the BB functions I'm a bit concerned Android will lack, but I have every confidence some app or the other will solve: 1. Ability to (at the touch of a button) send a text message to a contact (or contacts) and have that...

Ex Blackberry user needs serious help!

Great thread. Current BB-er here seriously considering the jump to Android (S4 or Note 2). WIll be so glad to have the Google Apps that BB has disastrously (fatally) lost. Here are the BB functions I'm a bit concerned Android will lack, but I have every confidence some app or the other will...

Thought so, the S3 looks a bit bigger. Note 2 is insane have you tried one of those?

    Keyboard short cuts

Just tried a Samsung G S3 today. Now the BB feels way too small. SwiftKey Keyboard is amazing! Much faster than 9900 qwerty - it just knew what I was thinking. Android feels great, I will be moving to it next. Likely S3 or N4 - now I have to find a N4 to try. But I felt the Z10 too and it felt...

Ah ok I see. On my 9900 WIFI actually eats batt life quickly. So no regrets about going to Android? Do you still use your BB?

Wow ... Are you using LTE? (I'm on Bell). Because there's lots of bad reports about battery life for Nexus 4 (and I find 9900 battery life pretty bad - I get 6-7 hrs max), I'm looking into portable options for Nexus 4 but cant find any viable ones. This might push me towards S3 .....

    Nexus 4 on Bell LTE

How is the battery life esp on LTE? Are there extended battery / portable options that can be obtained?

Sounds sick ... if I can ask, are there extended batteries or other workarounds, as I hear N4 has non-removable battery?

    Keyboard short cuts

Very nice and very tempting. 1 thing BB did which of course iPhone doesnt but which I'm hoping for is the ability to send a text message to a bunch of contacts, where the sms message will be sent to the mobile phone *and email address* of each recipient - ie sms to sms and sms to email at the...

Nice, thanks for the comment. Very close to going Android thanks to lack of BB apps. So you'd recommend N4 over S3? Can I ask which keyboard you use, and any other app tips you might suggest for a BB type? =)

Thanks - this looks great! I'm thinking of making the same move (used BB for 10 yrs). Any other tips? Looks like the S3 and N4 are nice possibilities...
