I haven't noticed any slow down. Just as fast as day I got it five months ago. I use S Pen specific apps a lot and still happy with it.

I tried a glass protector on the S7 Edge and gave up. I've been using it for a year without a screen protector. Now I use the S8+ without a screen protector and I'm using the Note8 without a screen protector as well. No scratches on any of these yet. I still use them all a lot.

Not sure if there was an update but I just got a new S7 Edge and there IS an extra Edge tab. It's driving me crazy. It's linked to messaging (I think). I disabled the standard Samsung messaging app and use Chomp but the tab still pops up on occasion.
