    Yes! It's incredibly useful. If you want to see something that's NOT useful, look at Windows Phone's 3 button arrangement. Instead of the recent apps button, they have a search button. Be thankful Android got rid of the 4-button arrangement it used to have. The purpose of the recent app buttons...

    Should be 3 years if you ask me, considering how open this phone is supposed to be and how major upgrades seem to happen every 2 years now. Anyway to answer the OP,, it is worth it if you get it for a really reasonable price.

    You should keep 4.1.2 and wait until there's a 4.2.2 or 4.2.3 or even 4.2.4. It's pretty annoying to people so far.

    I'm using a minimally modded custom rom and have noticed no major issues with lag. Sure the camera is weird and all but I don't have a problem with my phone overall. You should consider installing custom recovery and wiping the phone clean yourself.

    Yeah but it's not as feature packed as iMessage, sadly. Google seems to want you to use Google+ instead. I would suggest the OP use Whatsapp, Kik or Imo for those IM accounts in case nobody wants to install something new and already has you on an existing IM service.
