For me, it was nuisance. I had a newborn sleeping in the same room and didn't want the glow. I can't say that it will necessarily cause any problems. I would hope that Google would pull it down as malware.

You don't have to disable Peel. If you go to your Application Manager, you can turn turn off permission. Settings > Applications > Application Manager > More > Applications that can appear on top > Peel > off The next time you open Peel, you will get a prompt to enable Peel on your security...
