I haven't tried this solution myself, but if you share to clipboard then paste it into the app the text should be removed. Alternately you could save the selection (to the galley by default) then attach/upload it. I'm pretty sure there isn't a setting to disable the text annotation.

Haven't had any trouble. Someone told me bixby needs dates to work. But I haven't looked into that. It could have been a temporary problem with Samsung's server? There was a resent update. If you haven't installed it give that a try.

I think the only thing I would change is having access to the battery. The phone couldn't be water proof, but I would make the trade off. Otherwise love everything about the N8
