    It depends on what your using for background play. Youtube it's under Settings > General > Playback Pandora you have to pause. Google play you have to pause.

    So recently I factory reset my phone because I wanted a fresh start. I go to download the apps that I still want, Instagram being one of them. I go to download it but it give me the message this version is not compatible with your device.
