    For me, the placement of the fingerprint sensor was enough of an upgrade. I have small hands and I had to do some hand gymnastics to reach the FPS on the S8+. I don't have to do that on the S9+.

    AOD

    The LED notification light alerts you with notifications if you leave AOD off. I don't keep the AOD on because it is a battery hog. I just use the LED notification light to alert me of anything that I may have missed.

    I wouldn't recommend dropping it on cement, hard floors, or even carpeting. Get a case!

    As someone who used a Pixel 2 XL and has an iPhone X, I'm pretty happy/satisfied with the S9+. It's much more smooth than the Note 8. The extra 2GB of RAM really helps. Plus, the low-light photos are outstanding.

    I never keep my phone unlocked, not even in my own home. I can understand how some would want smart unlock to work for the convenience, but with all the stuff we keep on our phones--banking info, personal/work emails, all of our shopping apps with our stored credit/debit card info, social media...

    It doesn't work well for me, maybe 1 out of 10 times with my glasses. My company IT manager automatically blocked facial recognition when I logged into my Microsoft Exchange account (which was a good move on his part). FPS or iris scanning (when I'm wearing contacts) only for me.

    I can watch the battery life go down when I'm using the device. It's pretty bad, even with a more energy-efficient processor and a 3500 mAh battery. I kinda wish I didn't get rid of my Pixel 2 XL for this. I'm definitely not satisfied. The 2 XL had great battery life.
