im using chomp sms... i like this app for quick pop up reply and the message sent counter. Only downside for me is that it bypass my lockscreen code when i receive a text. And you can reply and see txt and it unlocks the phone. Also cant find some of my contacts while searching for a recipient...

No lag at all... rarely there is a lag with some apps... when this happens i just clear some ram or even better restart the phone... i always turn off my unit for about 10minutes and turn it on again everynight when i charge it to refresh the phone... overall its great as ive said rarely lagging...

Turn off wifi when not needed and off others like bluetooth nfc gestures settings etc when u dont really use it. Check auto brightness. Limit notifications on certain apps by going on its setting. Check battery on setting and see which app eat battery. im new to android and this is what i do ...
