I just used it on a 1100 mile trip and I didn't have any issues. Worked very well. Your car could be the reason why you're losing GPS signal.

Made it to stock 4.3. Left the bootloader unlocked so I can root next. Then I can go to sleep happy and content with this awesome phone. Thanks for the quick help!
