The letters next to your cellular indicator are standing for the connection protocol using by the phone. E means EDGE, G means GPRS, H for HSDPA, 3G is 3G. If nothing there at all it means that nothing is available, you are using simple GSM. Sent from my Nexus 4 using Android Central Forums
