I can't believe that more S5 users aren't experiencing this. It is so obnoxious; ever since I upgraded to Lollipop my S5 pops up a "check battery cover" message every few seconds. It is very tedious and I have no idea how to fix it.

I'm having the exact same issue, only after updating, tested with 2 different battery covers
