To be clear the problem only occurs when using Active Sync with the stock email app. I've tried both Nine & Mail Wise and both work fine. Mail Wise is free so it's a good alternative until Samsung & Google fixes the issue on the most popular Android phone in North America. :D

Hi, I have the same issue. If I enable the stock email app with an active sync account, the home and recent app buttons don't work. As a work around I deleted the active/sync account for the stock client and installed "nine" email client and now the home and recent app buttons work. Hopefully...
