Which ROM are you using that has these, I am mainly interest in the Battery life increase, and the Hotspot.

I don't think the OP is losing the Boot to recovery, I believe they are able to get to recovery, but cannot successfully complete the Cache wipe. And I don't think the issue is with AT&T, as I have the same issue on Sprint (see my thread with others having the same issue...

Yes, it may be a Sprint thing, I am able to do it either way (my instructions or yours), but either way I get the same result, which is a failed wipe, and a phone restart to home screen.
