4.3 To update or not to update, that is the question!

I must be blind, I don't see anything with the word "delete" (other than the one I typed :) ) after I click on Edit Post.

4.3 To Update or Not to Update?

How can I tell if I have a Custom ROM or just a plain Root? I am still using TouchWiz as the launcher and such, but I do have apps like SuperSU, Voodoo OTA rootkepper, and busybox. This shows the steps I followed to Root my phone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_hXUJ-u-cw

4.3 To Update or Not to Update?

I am running a rooted 4.2 and it is perfect, my battery life is amazing, and all is well. I know that the latest update 4.3 has some enhancements (such as Knox, and the auto-correct keyboard), but I really don't care to much about these. My questions are as follow: 1. I will not get the update...

It is not limited to the latest update, I was experiencing that even before the update. Btw, I am on Sprint.

    Signal strength on S4

Not sure that I can compare Apples to Apples, my previous phone was a Droid Bionic, and the signal was leaps and bounds better that my current GS4, but in fairness, I was with Verizon on the Bionic, and now I am with Sprint on the GS4. And Verizon is known to having a better signal than most of...

    why cant I clear cache?

I don't think the OP is losing the Boot to recovery, I believe they are able to get to recovery, but cannot successfully complete the Cache wipe. And I don't think the issue is with AT&T, as I have the same issue on Sprint (see my thread with others having the same issue...

clearing the phone cache partition issue. does that happen to you?

Yes, it may be a Sprint thing, I am able to do it either way (my instructions or yours), but either way I get the same result, which is a failed wipe, and a phone restart to home screen.

clearing the phone cache partition issue. does that happen to you?

by holding the Power, Vol up, and the home buttons, (after you shut down the phone). you wait for a little blue line of words to show up on the top left, then you can release all the buttons, you will be taken to the recovery screen, where you can select different options. Select the "wipe Cache...

clearing the phone cache partition issue. does that happen to you?

If you install and delete apps, it is sometimes better to do a Cache wipe, it is similar to defragging your hard drive on a PC. It just speeds things up. I had Moto phones in the past and doing this bi-weekly kept my phone running smooth. I don't know if that is the same for a Sammy phone, but...

clearing the phone cache partition issue. does that happen to you?

I have the Sprint version of the S4, and when I try to clear the Cache by shutting down the phone and restarting while holding the Power, Vol up, and the home buttons, I do end up on the recovery screen that allows me to select "wipe Cache partition", however once I select it, I briefly get...
