Just got 4.4 update for Nexus 7 2012!!!

Got my update first thing this morning. Seems snappier and the display driver hasn't crashed once. Tapatalk forum interface for this forum seems borked, but that's a Tapatalk issue...

How is the Nexus 7 tablet for reading ebooks?

My Kindle is sorely neglected these days. When indoors I ratchet the brightness of the N7 all the way down and crank it when outdoors. It`s my preferred eBook reader, hands down. Great screen, social media alerts, preferred communications platform. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Anyone Else Getting Frequent Launcher Crashes?

I've been getting them as well. This issue began in 4.2 for me a few weeks ago and persists in 4.3.

Curious.. is anyone here sorry they got the tablet?

I haven't experienced any of the issues that you've been having. Sorry to hear this. My browsing experience has been flawless with both Chrome and Firefox. I also have an iPad 3, and work/personal iPhones. For reading books, browsing, casual consumption etc, the Nexus7 (2012) is the one that...

iPad Mini resolution no match for Nexus 7.

(oops wrong quote. I meant to answer the question if I was satisfied with the N7 build quality when comparing the two side by side) Have both an iPad 3 and a N7. Yes. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

    Anyone jumping to 32GB?

Nope. I use mine for surfing the web, streaming music, as a windshield-mounted GPS, reading e-books, and for casual gaming. Plenty of space left, plus I rooted mine and I have a dongle and several thumb drives should I have the need for more storage than I have available.

    Good Offline GPS Apps?

The drivers are the same ones that were rolled up into the latest release. I put my N7 back to factory default and installed the latest update and TomTom works just fine. I've since rooted so that I can connect external storage for read/write. Rooting is nothing special. It just gives you the...

Is the Playbook better than the Nexus 7..how?

Man, I still think OS/2 should have won the race. It was so superior to anything in its time. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2

Is the Playbook better than the Nexus 7..how?

With the new 2.x update, having a Blackberry is no longer necessary. It's a standalone device. The latest iteration only has a 32gb version, but the dual-core processor is now 1.5ghz, in-line with the i-pad but not the Nexus 7. PC connectivity is the best out there, but there is a very poor...

Did the sticker on the back of your N7 peel off yet?

Yanked 'er of during the un-boxing as it looked like an afterthought. I also remove dealer advertising graphics from my cars. I once refused to drive a car off a lot until they got rid of the big dealer sticker and glue from my front bumper. And this was a new car. When they asked me why, I told...

    My New N7 Windshield Mount

This config was $103 in Canadian Pesos, roughly equivalent to US$ as we're a penny or 2 above the value of the green-back. In the Canadian province of Ontario, it's illegal to have hand-held devices in the car, so dash and elsewhere-mounts are legal and encouraged. I have 2 iPhone mounts (work...

    My New N7 Windshield Mount

Mine's in my Toyota Matrix. I have it mounted low on the windshield, and it extends just far enough to have the tablet below the windshield so there's negligible blockage of the view.
