I went back and re-read some of your posts. I am currently trying this....I have turned the phone off, pluggedit into the laptop....and voila! .... its charging. Fingers crossed. Bit of a nuisance that I have to turn it off to charge it, but until I find another soloution, this is it. Thanks...
