Which text messaging app are you using? I had a problem with Verizon's message+ that was similar, so I switched back to the stock app. It works without any issues for me.

I wouldn't think that they would be uncomfortable. How much different do you think it would be from the ones that you can install on the first gen? I have them, and the watch is much more comfortable.
