    I use my Galaxy S7 connected to WiFi and acting as HotSpot at the same time. This S7 has a Valid SIM card but during this setup, my mobile data connection is not used, rather WiFi is used.

    not really. I found many other pages where people talked about enabling HotSpot without a valid SIM. Just that I wasn't able to get it on my Galaxy S3. Hence my specific question. PS: I am the OP. I forgot to login before posting the question.
