Goodbye LG Watch Sport - I Hardly Knew Ya

Post March-7 software update: GPS lock is pretty quick now. I'm happy about that. Battery life is improved - not as dramatically as some have reported but definitely 'better'. HRM isn't *bad* but not great. All-in-all the LGWS is pretty neat gadget but I still use my Gear S3 Frontier LTE more.

Goodbye LG Watch Sport - I Hardly Knew Ya

I will concur with the OP. I have a very similar use-case/pattern and the battery drain on this watch is very concerning. The thing is - I'm OK with turning off LTE when I have my phone with me. I'm ok with disabling the AOD to eek out more battery. What I'm not OK with is the variable and...

    Spotify battery life

It uses a fair bit of battery on the S3 as well. The bigger issue for me is general unreliability. Spotify stops streaming about half-the-time during my runs. I've given up on using it. I have resorted to buying $9 albums of running music from Amazon (typically 50-100 songs) and syncing them to...

Won't Sync with Google Play Music

You no longer use the Play Music app on your phone to select music to sync to the LG Watch Sport. Make sure the Play Store and Play Music apps are updated on your watch. Then open the Play Music app *on the watch* browse to a playlist, radio station or album you want to sync/download to the...

Stand-alone GPS tracking, Endomondo, My Tracks etc.

Thanks for the WearGPS / GhostRacer tips! Very useful and it mostly works - Somehow Ghost Racer was in Bicycling mode when I ran this morning. I couldn't figure out how to change it from the watch. It still collected stats and uploaded to RunKeeper just fine. Using GhostRacer in stand-alone...

    Google Fit data sync

A fair point but I doubt I'll be using an LG watch say, 18 months from now. I want to use a manufacturer-agnostic health & fitness platform.

    Google Fit data sync

Really? Using a 3rd party app to sync data collected from another 3rd party app to a coterie of other apps all because the basic platform can't collect, sync, and store the data in the first place? Very disappointing.

    Google Fit data sync

GAH! This is maddening. I installed the LG Health app on my phone. Set it to sync with Google Fit. Then left my phone at my desk and did a lap around the office park here using just the LG Health app on the watch. Seemed promising - it asked for permission to use the watch location and...

    Google Fit data sync

I have tried the LG Health app on the watch and hated how it tried to 'coach' you to run at a certain pace. I just now found the "free" mode - that I hope just tracks whatever it is you are doing and leaves it at that. I'll try that. I just want to track my runs reasonably accurately - time...

    Google Fit data sync

I went for a run using just the LGWU2E this morning. 3.3 miles, ~5300 steps. Over the course of the past 3 hours - Google Fit - on the phone and website - and the watch - have reported 2000 steps, then 3000-odd steps, now 4800 steps. The Google Fit on the watch still shows .3 miles. Now -...

I know there's a pony in here somewhere (SMS issues and more)

Thanks for the follow-up information everyone! I had an issue recently where SMS/TXT messages were not showing up on the watch at all. I tried everything I could think of - no joy. Out of ideas I installed EvolveSMS on phone (and watch) and lo-and-behold: SMS messages started arriving and...

I know there's a pony in here somewhere (SMS issues and more)

LG Urbane 2 LTE (AT&T) w/NumberSync Samsung S7 (AT&T) After 2 weeks I fee like NumberSync and AndroidWear is a ****show. The core features I want from a smartwatch and NumberSync simply don't work. Phone calls - as near as I can tell work - SMS/Text messages - not so much. Inbound text...
