Yup it's bloat. The only way to get rid of bloatware (that I'm aware of) is to unlock the bootloader and root it. Then you can uninstall it or freeze it via Titanium Backup.

Unfortunately, there is no developer support for the Rhyme. The closest thing was that a few devs got hold of the Bliss (codename for the Rhyme) ROM and ported it to the HTC Incredible. That was the first time the Incredible ran Sense 3.5 I guess we just don't have any girl developers out there.

Once you unlock the bootloader, it's normal for the phone to say Relocked when you lock it again.

HTC has issued press releases with all the different models that will get the ICS update, and the Rhyme is on the list.

They promised ICS for the Rezound with the same timeframe. The Rezound is, arguably, a more high priority device, and we haven't gotten it yet either. There have been numerous ICS leaks for the Rezound, so I know that phone's update is close. The problem, IMO, is that the Rhyme can barely...

Dev support is nonexistent for this phone. I read somewhere about a CWM style recovery for it, but that was a while ago. Maybe you should PM Con over at XDA (in the Rezound and Nexus Forums) and see if he'll port a version of his custom recovery called TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) over...

You're talking about when she uses the docking station? Try settings>dock (or whatever it is - I don't have her phone in front of me). There may be some box you can uncheck in there.

Stop complaining. Root your phone, S-off, and install the ICS ROM of your choice. The developers have given you EVERYTHING. Donate to your favorite dev and be thankful that they are there. My God... Isn't that the point of these forums? If you want to only have one option, get an iPhone...

The Rhyme is a dead platform for rooting. Time to move on. As a 'girl' phone, unfortunately it's just not gonna get good dev treatment. I hoped it would get some love, but it just didn't happen. Only problem with that is you can't pull the battery on the Rhyme. I'd hold the power button down for 10 seconds and see what happens. Seems to be the only diagnostic tool for it at all.
