Should Google try to change how they release the new Android OS to something similar to Apple iOS? Wouldn't this bring a more uniformity in experience and security updates? It is a gamble to know when a device will receive an update due to all the coding changes that is involved with each OS...

Correct. I haven't found a need to do a factory reset.

I will do a reboot after closing all apps if I have a power drain. It has solved my issues to this point.

I think if they can put a 6" screen on a 5.5" phone, they can charge more for the phone. It's about the money and not the usability of the phone.

The main reason I upgrade to new Note will be due to the lack of SDcard expansion with Note 5. One of the worst ideas Samsung made with Note 5. Other than that, best phone I've ever owned. Even beats my Z10! Still miss my Z10 and BB10. ;)

Do you have Lollipop or Marshmallow? On Marshmallow, Settings>>Privacy and safety>>App permissions. I can't remember, but I believe it's the same on Lollipop.

Check your permissions? I had a similar issue and it was permissions for me.
