Yes, I set the screen lock on, it's set for 5 seconds after screen goes to sleep, and auto after pressing power button, but nothing. I did some searching on here and see that variations of my problem are common, with the clear credentials grayed out, etc.

Is the lock screen not part of the lollipop os? The clear credentials option is not available, could that be it. Is it possible that I could've disabled something that is affecting the lock screen not working? Do I need to encrypt it for lock screen to function?

I go into settings/security and select lock screen, pin etc, but nothing happens. I'm not 100% sure but I think when I first got it had swipe screen that I disabled but that could've been a different device. Regardless, it doesn't currently do anything. Does Lollipop require it to be encrypted...

Beginning of this year they're giving option for e-reader tablet to use with their school work; anyone know of something like this?

Yes, I am in the USA. Really not going to use it for much, maybe to call an uber, or take a pic of something while I'm out; if screen was big enough it'd give me something to read while waiting for app'ts. I wouldn't mind picking up something used off eBay etc if the quality is good.

I don't mind bezels, actually assumed it'd have them. Like I said I don't use mobile phones. What I meant was one that doesn't have buttons for dialing or texting, that just comes on the screen like with tablets. For all I know they all do nowadays.

I don't really use a mobile phone but since it's becoming increasingly necessary to have a mobile number I would like to get one that's pretty much all screen and good quality for an inexpensive price. Any suggestions?

I'm looking at a tablet/music player that offers using the sd card as internal storage, I don't really need the extra space as this is only going to be used to play music from the sd card; and online from iheartradio. Would you suggest formating the card for internal or keep it portable?

What about a linux based os; have they gotten to the point that they can play streaming services, games, music player natively nowadays?

It's a good hp business laptop, 17" screen, just limited now, and am thinking of a wired system for my child and this seems like the most economical solution. What would you suggest to convert it to android emulator that would make it more accessible for streaming video, playing kid games...

The problem seems to be the micro usb end getting loose. Any suggestion for a cable with durable prongs?

And if so, is it the first version to do it, or if not what's the first version to start this doubling? Tablet not being used during updates is fine; but seems it would defeat the purpose of purchasing a 32gb for more app storage.

Ours seem to get loose over time, and wonder if that is what causes charging issues?

Any "best" chargers for regular micro usb b 2a devices like fire tablets, older samsung etc? Have been using our Samsung 2a chargers which work fine, eventually wear out. I see a lot of smart chargers and wonder if they'd be any better than standard chargers?

I know, and you can get the 32gb 7" for just a little more. Thing is there are so many little annoyances with the fire tablets, that is worth considering a higher quality tablet.
