Quick update: I bought an Avantree Saturn Pro Transmitter/Receiver just to test this, because it has a status LED that indicates the exact Audio Mode used. According to this, the Dell Venue 8 7840 does NOT have apt-X support.

I know it's been a while, but how do you know the Venue 8 supports Apt-X? I'm trying high and low to find documentation on this, but nothing indicates it does support it. I also checked my device logfile when pairing it with my apt-X compatible headphones, and there is no mention of Apt-X either.
