Re: why cant my sansung note 3 receive text from a iphone 6 but can from all other iphones
By default iPhone is set to only use imessage. She needs to go into her settings, messages, and turn on sms. This will allow her to text none ios users.

Well after having this update over 24 hours now, my SOT is averaging around 5 hours and so far performance has been great if not better then on 5.0.2. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the update.
You know what's strange its back down to about 1% battery usage and I didn't even to do what you said yet.
Maybe it just needed some time to adjust after the update?

Yes it was the first thing I did after updating. I even checked my settings to see if anything was turned on after the update. Everything was how I had it before.

It's interesting you say that because after updating to 5.1.1 cell standby has become my highest battery drain.
Sitting on full bars...
I'm gonna try doing a factory reset and see if that helps.

Re: S6 Edge battery life vs battery usage stats
Definitely something going on in the background. Go and download gsam battery monitor from the app store.

Someone mistook my gear 2 the other day for an Apple watch. I just thought it was funny.
Anyways its really a testament to Apples marketing. Can't really blame people for not knowing about things that don't get advertised.

With gestures you're able to perform different actions just by swiping on the screen. For example, I have a gesture to open up App Dialer when I swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Or is I swipe up with 2 fingers it opens up Nova settings. There are tons of gesture options you can setup.
Nova Launcher Prime, tons of customization options, gestures, etc. They have a free version to try out as well. I'd recommend just playing around with the different launchers and see which ones you like.
