It finally worked! It just took about an hour before it told me that there was an update.

AT&T Jelly Bean Update FINALLY Available via Kies!!!!!

I have updated Kies and even reinstalled it. Kies recognized my phone just fine but does not say anything about upgrading to Jelly Bean.
