Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Definitely return it and all of its charging accessories for exchange. I had a similar problem with a new HP Touchpad that I bought when they were being discontinued and went on sale ($149 for a previously $499 unit). Pretty much the same problem but without the heat you mention. It was after...

I agree 100%. It's frosting on the cake, the cake being the already incredible hardware value of this now $129 device. I've long looked at Chinese tablets with HDMI out and SD card slots, but they've always had only "grey market" mom and pop importers/retailers and no regular updates from their...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Hisense is definitely going to provide Android updates with 4.3 coming this fall. I read that from a Hisense customer support person commenting on an Android developer board. Another on-line comment was that although Android 5 is supposed to be released this fall, devices other than those made...

I first saw it in the very positive engadget.com review.

Yeah, I think it's probably not so much that they are an "Apple store," it's as I'd previously speculated about profit margins on various tablets, probably large on the over-priced, status symbol iPads, lower on the Nexus, and even lower on the Hisense. No big Apple displays in any of the four...

Good job. If you haven't already done so, you might give him the link to the HiSense Sero 7 Pro page I linked to immediately above which points out that the Sero 7 Pro was Laptop Magazine's editors' choice for Jun 2013.

If you click on the Sero 7 Pro image at the bottom of that page, you'll go here: Hisense Sero 7 Pro where it says, "Available at Walmart" in a large font. I'm glad you mentioned this because I see from going to their generic "where to buy" link that they sell stuff at Lowes and Costco, too...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

I'm glad they did and hope they continue to be a supplier (thus my call for current Sero 7 Pro owners to promote as many sales as possible) because all of the most capable, HDMI and SD slot equipped, inexpensive Chinese tablets I've seen in the past before the Sero line were tablets imported by...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Everyone here who owns a Sero 7 Pro knows what an amazing value it is at $129. Since Walmart isn't doing anything to sell them and instead seems to be hiding them away in stores, and since we all want to see a Sero 7 Pro v2 being sold by Walmart at some point in the future, be sure to post your...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

I don't know how many tablets Walmart manages to sell, but since they do sell the Nexus 7 and the iPad Mini, I wonder if they don't make any top-down directed effort to advertise the Sero 7 Pro because their markup profits on the Nexus 7 and, especially, the iPad Mini are so much higher and the...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

As others have commented here, it's amazing that there isn't more attention being paid to this great $129 device by both the on-line community and Wal-mart. Too many pay exclusive attention to the new Nexus 7 v2 and the near-term new and pricey iPads. Frankly, I don't care if I ever get an...

Hisense Sero 7 Pro - Unboxing pictures (no video)

Just found this: Android 4.3 JWR66Y and JSS15Q available for all Nexus [also Factory Image] Since the Sero 7 Pro update is also 1.7MB in size, I strongly suspect that this recent, smaller update is the master key vulnerability fix.

Investigated further and found that the first, large (52.2MB) update brought a new kernel that was almost certainly patched to fix the master key vulnerability, Google Currents was added to stock apps, and three new drivers were added. I've found nothing specific about the latest, smaller update.
