That's an excellent guess, and I'm curious what's in the security update.

That's absolutely untrue. Apple faces all kinds of issues with their updates too. Most of the time, I have seen data deletion issues, bricking, etc. It seems as though many Apple users aren't as vocal, due to the fact that they are in a locked down ecosystem.

I'm a big fan of the Slim Spigen also, plus I picked up the Caseology Parallax in Black. Nice protection, and button presses are very responsive. Highly recommended!

The kickstand isn't heavy, but it feels "solid". I only wish there were more color options...

Went to Sprint Store, only had Silver or Black. Had to let me Coral Blue go for the Black one. Crappy part? My cases are all Blue...and I bought them off of eBay. FML....lol

Not yet, it appears only the Verizon users have received the OTA update for this.
