Sure enough, I jinxed myself. Had an un/re-mount earlier today. But I can live with one a week, as long as it stays that way and I didn't just jinx myself again.

Hopefully I don't jinx myself, but I haven't had any un/re-mounts since I updated Google Music a week ago. (SD card monitor app shows 0 even after (re)creating/(re)ordering playlists which always used to cause an un/re-mount.)

OTOH I do have Samsung Pay installed and Simple Pay enabled, and recently the only time I get un/re-mounts is when I (re)create/(re)arrange my playlists in Google Music. (Fortunately, my fave iOS music player, Capriccio, was recently ported to Android, so I've been using that instead.)

You may not have to install an app. When the SD card un/re-mounts, the Media process (re)scans all the media on the card (which drains the battery, which is my peeve with this bug). So you may be able to check the percentage of battery used by the Media process, and if it's unusually high, it...
