Android Q beta as daily driver?

The two button interface doesn't play well with Nova launcher in Beta 5, it was fine in Beta 4. It now switches to the native launcher when you swipe up bring up multitasking.

Android Q beta as daily driver?

AA is fine now. In the early betas Bluetooth could get messed up if you got a phone call but that's all been sorted out. I'm not having any problems now and I love the new interface.

Pixel 2 Audio Quality - how is it?

I've been happy with Bose, I have a wired noise canceling bair and a bluetooth set without noise canceling. They now have noise cancelling Bluetooth headphones, if I were in the market now I'd buy those.

Pixel 2 Audio Quality - how is it?

Bluetooth quality is excellent. The built in front facing stereo speakers are very good given the limitations of the phone form factor although no comparison to real speakers.

Move from Windows phone to Pixel 2?

I'm not sure why every keeps mentioning the lack of an SD card slot. Pixel2s come with unlimited Google Drive space so 64G should be enough local storage for anyone and if you really think you need more you can get the 128G version.

Will google really wait till October 2018 to replace the screen?

The complaints about the screen are nonsense. I don't notice a blue shift at all. The color balance has been addressed in 8.1. When I put the 2XL next to my old Nexus 6P I barely see any difference, if anything I prefer the 2XL. Everything else about the phone is great. The camera is as good as...

    Found my old Palm Pre

Palm was a real tragedy, it's a case study of what happens when you can't meet your schedules. I had a couple of Treos and then the Pre. WebOS was years ahead of Android and iOS but unfortunately they put it on outdated hardware. If Palm had shipped when they were supposed to the tiny screen...

Pixel 2 XL and Android Auto working?

Android Auto works fine for me on the 2XL, it seems to me more reliable than it was on the 6P. My car is a 2017 Chevy Volt.

How is Call Quality on the Pixel 2 & 2 XL?

It's terrific, vastly better than my Nexus 6P.

    New Saturation Settings (Thoughts)

I don't see any difference between the modes, I'm on 8.1 Beta2. I've been completely happy with the display, putting it side by side with my old 6P, both running 8.1, I didn't notice any significant difference, if anything I like the 2XL slightly more.

    Carrier or Outright from Google?

The Pixel2s have an eSIM built in so you don't have to put in a Project FI SIM. I've found the answer, you can have both services at once. All you have to do is enable Project FI and then you can just switch back and forth between carriers, pretty cool...

    Carrier or Outright from Google?

    I stand corrected.

    Carrier or Outright from Google?

I don't know about other carriers, I take your word for it but I'm sure that Verizon has something in there contract that will make you give back any discounts that they offered if you change carriers. When I said that I don't like to wait for OTAs, I've never flashed an OTA image I always...

    Carrier or Outright from Google?

Developer mode is grayed out on Verizon phones so you can't enable developer mode, if you can't enable developer mode you can't flash a factory image, you can only do OTA updates. There is one more very important thing that developer mode allows which has nothing to do with rooting or flashing...

    Carrier or Outright from Google?

Verizon phones are locked, Google phones aren't. If you ever want to flash the phone you should buy it from Google, I do that all the time so I don't have to wait for the OTAs. Also if you think there is any chance that you will want to switch carriers or go with project Fi you will want the...
