I guess all Google developers are also using iPhones. Because they must be aware of this huge problem. I have tried add high priority to the notifications to my own android app but they are still randomly delayed.

I can also verify that notifications are still delayed with the december update but fixed with adb doze disabled.

I would return it. It has gone 3+ months without any fix or any easy toggle setting to turn off doze without adb. :mad:

I know that doze will be back at boot and I have checked so it should be disabled. It's just a few notifications that are delayed. I can verify this as I receive same notifications on my iPhone and they are sent about the same time. It's my own app. Or else could it be that google firebase...

I have disabled doze but I now only receive some notifications when I activate the screen. It used to work fine with doze disabled. Pixel 2 with Android 9.0 and latest update November 5. I maybe should try with Doze enabled again.

Nope. It's very annoying that you can't change this setting directly in the Androids settings. It could at least be under some hidden advanced system setting.

I had same problem. It wouldnt work with my usb3 cables so I got the cheapest usb to usb-c cable from IKEA! and then it worked. :)

I have also a Pixel 2 and it affected many apps for me. I could also test/verify it with my own app by sending notifications through google firebase cloud messaging. With "adb shell dumpsys deviceidle disable" I now receive all gmails and notifications from my own app instantly all the time.

Thanks!!! After I applied the adb shell command notifications are no longer delayed on my Pixel2 with Android 9.
