Did you try to root the device?

Switch of the device..remove sim...reinsert sim...and restart device that will fix the problem!!

I had the same problem..Go to Manage Application (in settings) and uninsatll any Play Store update. After that click the Play Store button in the menu and Play Store will automatically update :)

The default weather app in S5 isn't that good..download weather widgets and it should work just fine
