thats odd i have been using handcent since my N1 and never had battery drain, even on my inspire my battery drain isnt any different with it vs not. Did you disable notifications for the standard messaging program? i know that sometimes will drain if you have notifications for both.

yea after reading a few different sites i dont want to uninstall it anymore i just want to freeze it, i dont feel like moving it to sd card or reinstalling it later if i need to go to stock. thanks though

thanx i just sucked it up and rooted it using that one click thing thats really like hit enter 20 times instead. it worked, i then flashed it to a rom that was the stock gingerbread that supposedly had S-off on it we will see in a little bit

is there a way to freeze bloatware without rooting, i just dont feel like rooting if i dont have to. i would only root to freeze the bloatware crap att is forcing on me.

if i root my phone then do the gingerbread update will i still be rooted, im assuming no, only reason i want to root is to remove the bloatware!
