Nexus 7 stuck on Google logo screen on boot up

Not counting on an ASUS or Google fix so just ordered a ME572C-A1-BK from Best Buy for much less than the cost of fixing the N7. Has the same screen as the N7 2013, so should be reasonable. Brian

Nexus 7 stuck on Google logo screen on boot up

Well, it just happened to my N7 2013 32 GB wifi. Tablet stopped overnight and when restarted would just stick on the Google logo screen. Have tried all the various suggestions with no luck. I can boot into recover, but cannot do either a clear cache or a system reset (get memory access...

The Nexus 7 (2013) Android 5.1 Lollipop Thread

Strange, NRT worked for me on the 1st try and didn't erase my data (5.0.2 -> 5.1). I had used NRT previously to update to 5.0.1 and then 5.0.2. For all these, I used NRT to re-root after the updates.

The Nexus 7 (2013) Android 5.1 Lollipop Thread

That's because the LTE versions have to go through the providers like AT&T, Verizon, etc. The wifi versions don't.

    How's 5.0.2 running?

Installed the full version last week using the Nexus Root Toolkit (without data wipe) and so far has been running fine (N7 2013). Haven't noticed any differences from 5.0.1 yet.

Who has NOT received an OTA yet?

Seems there is a 5.0.2 version out now (Nexus 7 (2013) and Nexus 10 Android 5.0.2 factory images arrive). I'm at 5.0.1, so i'll wait for the OTA (assuming rooted devices get the OTA's) since I don't want to go to the bother again of side-loading a fresh install.

Battery life seems much poorer under 5.0.1

I agree. I did a fresh install (because I wasn't getting the OTA) and my battery life actually appears to be better.

    Just got the official OTA

You could be right, but it's hard to tell as so many others have still not received the OTA. However, I don't think Google worries at all about rooting (unlike carrier devices), so I suspect I would have still been offered the OTA but it would probably have failed during the install.

    Just got the official OTA

Strange! Actually, another reason I decided not to wait for the OTA was that I had rooted the device and had read that, because of changes that Google had made to the OTA update process, "any" changes made to the system files from stock would actually prevent the OTA from installing.

Nexus 7 (2013) Android 5.0.1 bug reports here.

Did a fresh install of 5.0.1 yesterday using the Nexus Root Toolkit. I backed up my apps & data first using MyBackup Root and then restored them into Lollipop. No problems so far after a day of use. Battery is still at 95% after 24 hrs of light use. GPS is fine. Wifi is fine.

    [GUIDE] Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) Cache Partition Wipe

Thanks very much for this. My 2013 N7 (running 4.4.2) started going down to only about 1 day on the battery even in standby mode when it used to last about 4+ days. After the the wipe, it is now back to 4+ days. All went as described.

GPS Problems on Nexus 7 (2013)

See my post a few minutes earlier. Try using GPS Status (Play Store) and reset the A-GPS data. That fixed the GPS for me.
