The correct question is why the hell is it necessary to manually delete the cache partition in the first place, and why the hell do people still tolerate it? After the pile of hot garbage that is Lollipop, it would seem Google would try to make Android better. Nope.

I was able to fix this on my router. Apparently, Lollipop doesn't like 5ghz and AES on some routers. I set the wireless security to WPA+WPA2, set the encryption to AES+TKIP, and set the frequency to 2.4ghz only (G.) Works correctly now. Good luck.

Unless you just like trying new stuff, no, it's not worth it. The OS is pretty cool, but coming from Android, you will become frustrated very quickly by the lack of apps and features. It's pretty obvious to non-fanboys that Microsoft has no idea what they're doing and will pull the plug on...
