Leather RocketFish folio cases available. $50. No place to stow pen.

Hmmm. I don't have that kind of smudging but I did have a little spot like that and some Windex took it right off. You should avoid using petroleum-based cleaners like Windex on plastic, but since the screen is glass, I figure a little won't hurt. Definitely something to watch for. It's...

No hole for camera and speakers?

    Touch Input- Trace stops working?

This is actually the same thing Swype does: if you're in a textbox where the system expects words, tracing works. If you're in a textbox that isn't necessarily limited to words, it does not. The only tracing keyboard I've found that works with tracing everywhere is Ultra Keyboard, which while...

    Thanks Apple

I'm really not sure -- they're so new. On laptops, I usually buy a high-end Thinkpad every 4 years or so. On cell phones, it's every year or two since the G1, because I like to have the latest stuff. (G1, Nexus One, G2) I'm betting tablets will fall somewhere in between. 2 or 3 years. I'll...

Complaints about the HTC Sense 3 Reader application

Having import my whole ebook library (thanks to some DRM removal scripts), I've made it through a couple of books on the Reader app and I'm wondering if I'm alone in some complaints. First of all, while regular text flows fine, Reader doesn't handle visuals well at all. You cannot zoom into...

    Thanks Apple

I'm not sure Apple is that overpriced. Remember the original Motorola Xoom was $800. The WiFi model still starts at $600, though it does have 32gigs. The Flyer, Galaxy Tab, and yes even the iPad are premium devices that cost a lot because of their build quality. This summer we'll see a lot of...

    Flyer Software Update

We probably already have it in the states. Remember ours came out weeks later anyway.

Why I'm loving the Flyer and its companion "Pen"

Heh. A use case they actually got right in the ads for the Flyer. Much unlike sending scribbled on screenshots instead of regular links for websites. If someone actually sent me a screenshot of a website instead of the url, I'd have to punch him.

Google showing mobile news site no matter what

Hmmm. Actually in the user agent string the Flyer sends out,it claims to be Safari. But I do think there is an intermittent bug in Google's code because sometimes it works fine.

Google showing mobile news site no matter what

Is it just me or when you go to news.google.com, do you get the mobile site on the Flyer regardless of whether you have the mobile user agent enabled? On non-Google sites, I'm getting the desktop version of the sites.

    Still no sdk

No I'm talking about the pen. HTC said there would be an sdk for pen-enabled apps.

    Still no sdk

You think maybe HTC is holding off on releasing the SDK until Honeycomb is released?

will honeycomb overwhelm our single core?

I don't think apple advertises tech so much as experience, but yes, the iOS devices make heavy use of hardware acceleration for all their wizardry. And android does too increasingly.

will honeycomb overwhelm our single core?

Gingerbread doesn't use the GPU for GUI elements?

How do apps look like on the Flyer?

It's full screen in both Angry Birds and Pulse. The only issue with Pulse is that Flash overlaps the navigation, but that's a Pulse issue. I emailed them about it and they are aware.
