The android market will let you download the rentals to be watched offline, its kinda like a check-out, watch, check-in type thing I think. You can go to Help in the android market app and get all the info you need about renting, downloading, etc.

This same thing happened to me a few days ago. what I ended up doing was removing the FB integration account, installing/updating the latest version of FB for android, then go back and add the FB integration account again. once I did that everything worked, and none of my contacts were unlinked...
