Question for you all that don't understand what the fuss is all about: What would be the threshold angle that would cause you to mind it or be bothered by it?

Agreed. It boils down to this for me: 1. Google's QC is awful and they are manufacturing and distributing screens with widely varying display characteristics. 2. My previous phone (Nexus 6) has zero blue shift. It has no color shift at all. This is perhaps why it's so bothersome to me...

100% of the Pixel 2 XL units that I've seen have a blue tint issue and all of them, reported here and elsewhere, have the issue remarkably similar to the images that I've posted.

Correct. And not just mine, a lot of others as well. Completely different? Your screen does not tint blue at off angles? Nice! HDR video doesn't crush blacks? Lucky! I'd love to see a comparison shot so I can show it to Google!

For those that are curious: How a 3 yo OLED panel compares to today's Pixel 2 XL screen:

Original on left, RMA on right. Camera had exposure and white balance locked (the shifting wreaked havoc without those locked!). Video is over exposed a bit - the shift happens a little sooner in real life but you should be able to see the difference between the two screens.

There is a visible difference. The replacement one shifts blue at a slightly larger angle and the blue has less of a cyan tint to it (cooler). It's also noticeably brighter. The side by side comparison I posted earlier represents the color difference almost exactly compared to what I see in...
