But I already told you that: open the file explorer and search for the file you downloaded.. It's in the Download dir; long tap on it and select to move the file in the Ringtones dir. Then edit the contact you want..

First move the silence.mp3 file from Download folder to the Ringtones one using a file explorer (LG G2 has its own) then go to the contact and edit it.. You'll find the option there.. ;)

Yep, that's one of the worst aspect related to the Android world.. As @physioprof said, every app basically does what it want! So if the developer wrote the app in a certain way it will perfectly integrate into the Holo default style; if not you will see terrible things, believe me, sometimes...
