Was it the full version of these forums or the mobile version? I find the browser occasionally crashes if I am browsing full-version websites then load a mobile site like m.facebook.com. It may be the browser trying to automatically adjust settings then choking.

I've pretty much resolved it by killing all open apps before playing music, it seems at that point any email polling etc doesn't cause issues. At least no where near as severe. And people say you don't need task killers on Android, bah humbug! In my experience Android doesn't close apps down...

Try Jorte, I believe it has a native Jorte mode. I don't personally like it but lots of people do, you could also try Gemini which I like a lot, it may work fine using the Android db.

Finally! something. I don't know about PI itself, I am not crazy about the interface, but this should at the very least light a fire under the butts of other developers before PI captures the market. What do you think the eventual cost will be of PI? If reasonable, maybe I'll give it a real...

Actually this is an issue with songs directly in the phone's internal SDcard or an external card, so I'm sure that isn't the issue. I have a feeling it could be apps like widgets polling for data and using the processor.

Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this, and how to avoid or resolve it. It is pretty annoying. Can someone recommend a media player better than that Captivate's native one that may avoid this?

Interesting, I found Beautiful Widgets itself was the worst battery-sucker I've used.

How about TapeMachine? It costs ~$5.50 US but does allow pause, and the killer thing is you can view and edit visually using the waveforms, that is a big deal for me. It saves to WAV, OGG, AAC, and FLAC. I may get this one.

I tied Aldico, I don't see it handling PDFs. I just tried ezPDF Reader, that basically does this though it is a bit rough and costs a buck. Not full-full screen though.
