After DAYS of accumulated research & efforts to sync my Outlook 2010 calendar and contacts I gave up.(S4 with Kies) I tested 3 products that are not free and finally paid $24 for Akruto Sync...
On Samsung S4: On Home Screen click for settings, select 'More' tab, Developer options is under 'System Manager'. Select Developer options and scroll to 'Apps' section. 'Do not keep activities' is listed there.
