Yup dryness, also wetness, a little dirty, scuffed up etc. Anybody who works with their hands will find this FP sensor very inconsistent. If your hands are perfectly pampered and you work in an office all day it will be pretty good. Overall it's just a lot more picky as to when it can...

Absolutely it will charge no problem. I have the exact same setup. The charger starts charger it when I'm a 1/4" away still while pacing it on the stand.

That coupled with the fact thumbs get more "messed" up when working with your hands make them less reliable. The actual FP scanner isn't that bad, it's the other little details that detract from the experience in my opinion

I think I'm going to uninstall Norton too. I always questioned its necessity anyway. Also I need to free up one of my licenses so why not.

I use Norton too. The day before yesterday mine froze in the camera app, started flickering then the screen went gray and then black. The phone wouldn't turn on for 5 minutes! I was pressing and holding power button and everything else I could think of and no response whatsoever for 5 minutes...

I have to admit; when my thumb is perfectly clean and not scratched up etc. The FP scanner works great. The discrepancy in people's experiences with the FP reader can be attributed to the condition of ones thumb. I've absolutely without a doubt have seen this to be the case.

You most likely have an office job and don't work with your hands. Am I right? That's the final "condition". Now I understand that chewed up fingerprints is a valid reason for a sensor to have difficulty reading them, but with that said the pixel 3 reader didn't have a problem in that regard...

Not hardware. If condition's aren't perfect (finger, ambient light etc..) it struggles to read reliably. That's it.

Yeah it's weird. It's like I had to run it through a full spectrum cycle to get it to reach it's full potential. Lol

Well... It seems that my battery life has gotten a lot better in the last several days. I've gotten almost 5 hours of screen on time today and still have 45% battery left. The battery life Seems to have fixed itself. I did notice (not sure if it's coincidental or not) that the battery life...
