Have had my D2G for about 5 weeks and have never had any issues with the slide lock. I would also suggest returning the unit.

You can return the device and cancel or port your number to another carrier without having to pay the ETF ($350 for your D2G). They will charge you for prorated services for the time your had the account (just a few days based on your just getting the D2G last Wednesday), taxes on the service...

I have the extended battery on my D2G and it fits in the multimedia dock with no problems. Do not have the car dock so can't say for sure.

I have had the D2G for about two weeks now and have not had any issues with overheating or shutdowns. When looking and deciding between the D2G and Pro I just felt that the keyboard on the Pro would be just too small for me and really wanted a larger screen.
