I was wondering how Verizon knew if it was a prepaid phone or not. Is it the same scenario as the "keep your unlimited data" trick. As long as you dont use the sim card that comes with the phone, verizon wont know where the phone came from?

Hi, I have Verizon wireless and I have all calls and texts go to my Google Voice number and then forwarded to my Verizon number and I receive them via my GV app but my bill still shows text usage. What exactly do I need to change? I want to get rid of the $30/mo text package. Thanks
