I just thought I would add how I resolved this issue for myself. ;) PREREQUISITE: Device must be set to use "USB debugging". (I'm not sure of any way to do this without it.) I changed the "ro.board.platform" field in my tablets build.prop file (bad I know), which made my system boot to a blank...
