You can always remove touchwiz (carrier specific) and run vanilla android until then. I think that may have been your original question. Just clear cache or uninstall TWLauncher in the manage apps screen. You will then run vanilla 2.1 unless you choose to lay another launcher on top.

click on the swype key>options>auto insert space (uncheck)

anybody know if there is a file somewhere we can remove so it will stop reading the update as a "new activity"?

Email>Settings in accounts there will be a sync and unsync (on / off) you will have to turn the account on to send from it. another thing you can do is authorize your gmail account to send from the other address so its as if you were sending from your "main acct"

So I did the update and now everytime the phone boots up it gives the fullscreen device management congrats notification that I updated etc. anybody else get this notification of update completion everytime still? and is there a way to get rid of it?

you will care when there is an unremovable notification on your phone that isnt there YET because they have not completed the update yet, samsung stated originally that the update would take a couple weeks it was att that said they could do it by friday. Never the less we should know not to...

can we get a more developed answer from others opposed to updating? i dont want to have to app kill a notification everytime they try to push it to my device
