Okay tried it but no luck. Home screens reset but still no notifications or shortcuts showing on the lock screen.

Thanks loraque but no, haven't installed any 3rd party launchers or anything that would modify notification settings which is why I suspected a bug in an Android update.

Within the last couple of days, shortcuts on my lockscreen are no longer showing up and neither are notifications for texts or missed calls that you can swipe and go directly to. At the same time there must have been some kind of minor update to the OS as notifications for texts and e-mails in...
