I just got a Samsung s23 to replace my iPhone 11. I was already using several Google apps and transferred my data. When I opened my contacts there was no way to edit them. I downloaded the Google contacts app to use instead of the Samsung one, but I still have no edit function. How do I fix this?

Just transitioned from a hated iPhone to a Samsung s23. 4(ish) years ago I got an iPhone for the first time, thinking that since my daughter got better reception at my house than I did that I wanted one. WRONG! Now I'm back on Android but am having issues that I'm pretty sure shouldn't be...
