Re: my phone does not ring when one of my contacts calls. You may need to provide the name and model of the phone for getting quick help here. There are lots if devices you know, and each differs in configuration.

Check MMS Cconfiguration under Access Point settings in Network tab. If it is empty, i'll suggest you contact your network provider and request for MMSC details. Without it, you cant send multimedia message (message containing media file such pics, songs e.t.c)

May be you should enable "Unknown Apps" under Settings > Applications then try again.

You can only do that by enabling Airplane/Offline mode.
